乌克兰工作室Frogwares Studio以福尔摩斯为题材开发的“夏洛克·福尔摩斯”系列PC冒险游戏已经发行过几部作品，上两部作品《福尔摩斯：唤醒》和《福尔摩斯vs亚森罗宾（Sherlock Holmes versus ArseneLupin）》中福尔摩斯和华生面对的是HPLovecraft笔下的著名邪神Cthulhu和莫理斯·卢布朗笔下的大盗亚森·罗宾，而在最新一部作品中，他们将面对的是英国历史上最残忍的杀人犯：开膛手杰克。
Frogwares Studio与发行商FocusHomeInteractive近日正式公布了“夏洛克·福尔摩斯”的第5作品《福尔摩斯对开膛手杰克（Sherlock Holmes vs.Jackthe Ripper）》，游戏将于2009年3月于欧洲发行。
这次可能是福尔摩斯最恐怖的一次冒险经历，因为他将要面对的是令人恐惧的开膛手杰克。本作中玩家将扮演福尔摩斯进入充满恐惧气氛的伦敦街头，寻找开膛手杰克的踪迹，玩家将试着解开谜团，找出恶名昭彰的凶手身分。
游戏背景设定在1888年的伦敦东区Whitechapel，当地发生了一连串令人毛骨悚然的

  The year is 1888, and the setting is London's Whitechapel area, where a

  murders continue, creating paranoia and terror in the streets. Sherlock
  Holmes sets out to find clues in the dark, gloomy streets of Whitechapel,
  following a macabre trail of the one that the press calls Jack the Ripper.
  During this terrifying adventure, Sherlock will attempt to shed some light
  on the mystery that shrouds the identity and motive of the one who hides
  behind this terrifying nickname.
