九寨沟黄龙位于四川省阿坝藏族羌族自治区，是我国公布的第一批国家级重点风景名胜区。1990年，九寨沟被列为“中国旅游胜地四十佳”之首，1991年被列入联合国《世界风景名录》，1992年12月又由联合国教科文组织批准，正式列入《世界自然遗产名录》，从此登上世界旅游的宝座，成为中外游客向往的神奇的“萝幻世界”。因沟内分布着9个藏族村寨而得名，海拔2000~3000米，属高山深谷碳酸盐堰塞地貌，以翠海（高山湖泊）、叠海、彩林、雪山、藏情“五绝”驰名中外，被誉为“梦仙境”和“童话世界”。主景长沙余公里，面积6万多公顷，有长海、剑岩、诺日朗、树正、扎如、黑海六大景观，呈“Y”字形分布，以水景最为奇丽，泉、瀑、河、滩将108个海子连缀一体，碧蓝澄澈，千颜万色，多姿多彩，“水在树间流，树在水中长”，有“黄山归来不看岳，九寨归来不看水”和“世界水景之王”之称九寨沟特别美丽，国家中唯一获得“世界自然遗产”的“童话世界”。九寨沟的山水形成于第四纪古冰川时期，海拔在2000-3200之间，存着大量第四纪古冰川遗迹。九寨沟的地下水富含大量的碳酸钙质，湖底、湖堤、湖畔水边均可见乳白色碳酸钙形成的结晶体，来自雪山、森林。九寨沟的活水泉又异常洁净，加之梯形状的湖泊层层过滤，其水色愈加透明，能见度高达20米。翠海、叠瀑、彩林、雪峰、藏情，被誉为九寨沟“五绝”。水乳交融，美不胜收。
